Schools Open January 4th-School will be resuming Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, and we must take our health and the health of others into consideration. Students who are sick, have tested positive, or have been exposed to COVID-19 should stay at home, and parents should notify the school to excuse them.
Case investigation for COVID-19 has transitioned from the local level to the state level. With that being said, our point of contact has changed, and with the influx of cases, the response time may take longer. If you have tested positive or have been exposed to COVID-19, please ensure you get your end of isolation/quarantine date via documentation from your case investigator (they can email you a release letter, and if problems arise, this will be helpful.)

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is evaluating the The Center for Disease and Prevention's (CDC) updated isolation and quarantine guidance for COVID-19. At this time, KDHE's current isolation and quarantine guidance has not changed. Any investigation will be based on current guidance. Once the review process is completed an update will be sent out. When a change is made by KDHE it will be articulated.

The vaccination clinic scheduled for Thursday December 16 has been cancelled. We will attempt to host this clinic sometime in January.

School Cancellation - There will be no school in the Woodson School District for the remainder of the week due to the increasing number of covid cases, the number of students in some type of quarantine, and the huge number of students absent from school. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Hopefully, this extended break will help decrease the number of students becoming sick and we get a good start to the second semester.

The weekly covid report has been posted to the website, usd366.net. The high school will be in a mask required status due to having over 4% of the building population testing positive. All school activities have been cancelled for the remainder of the week.

All school activities will be canceled for the rest of the week (December 14-17) due to the sharp increase of positive Covid cases. This action affects scheduled music programs, the remainder of the MS Basketball schedule, and high school basketball. The status of the district buildings and any changes in the requirements in the district’s protocols regarding masks will be determined as soon as the daily Covid documentation is completed. This information will be released later today, Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

Vaccination Clinic - The school district will be hosting a vaccination clinic on Thursday, December 16, from 2-4 pm at the high school that is open to the public. The clinic will be able to provide primary and booster doses of Covid vaccinations and the annual flu vaccination to both adults and students. Please bring your insurance card and vaccination card with you. If you have insurance, the health department will be billing your insurance company for reimbursement; however, if your insurance company will not cover the cost, you will not be billed.

Due to the upswing of Covid cases, YCHS will be suspending all high school basketball activities for this week. (No practice or games). We all feel that this is the best for the health, safety and competitiveness of our teams. The game with Jayhawk-Linn will be made up after Christmas Break. Thank you for your support and understanding of this situation.

Writing letters to Santa was a cooperative activity involving both Kindergarten and Fourth Grade classes. Mr. Morris had his class helping out with Mrs. Plegge's class.

Fourth Grade students helped the Kindergarteners write letters to Santa last week and then practiced their reading skills reading with the younger students.

Next week is Spirit week for PK-8 students!

The school district will be holding another vaccination clinic on Thursday, December 16. The clinic will be held at the high school and will begin at 2 pm. Covid boosters, Covid first or second vaccinations for both students and adults, and flu shots will be available. The vaccinations are free and open to the public. The health department does ask that you bring your vaccination and insurance cards with you. The county will run the insurance card to check if they can be reimbursed for the service without costing those individuals who receive the vaccination. If you have any questions regarding vaccinations please contact the Woodson Health Department at 625.2484.
