COVID 19 Quarantine-Beginning September 29, 2020, the Woodson County School District will implement the following requirements for quarantining students. This implementation intends to keep students in school the best that we can while rewarding students and staff for implementing safety precautions. The bottom line, if we want students to stay in school, have them wear a facial mask while in school.
• Students and teachers who are not wearing a facial mask, and who are identified in close proximity of a positive COVID case will be quarantined for 14-days.
• Students and teachers who are wearing a facial mask, and who are identified in close proximity of a positive COVID case will be given the choice of quarantining or remaining in school.
• Students and teachers who remain in school will be required to be temperature checked before entering the school for 14 days.
• The definition of wearing a facial mask is that the mask is worn properly at all times. Wearing facial masks part of the time will place the student in jeopardy of being quarantined if in close contact with a positive COVID case.
• Students who participate in school-sponsored activities and become exposed during the activity by a positive COVID case may be quarantined for 14-days.
• Students and teachers exposed to individuals outside of the school setting will need to quarantine for 14 days.
A big Thank you to Easton Reynolds and Buck Link for making the playground look wonderful with the new mulch.

Thankful for the support of the community for our schools. Every year, the Yates Center Elevator participates in the Zoetis Industy Support Program. This program allows a portion of the money from some of the products we purchase during a specific time frame, to be donated to an FFA chapter of our choice. Our commitment to this program ensures that this money will help our local FFA chapter in the development of the next generation of agricultural leaders for a brighter future for our future farmers and ranchers. This year we were able to donate $455.00 to the Yates Center High School FFA chapter to be used as they see fit.

We did have an active case reported from the high school which has led to a few students needing to quarantine. As always, if any students are exhibiting signs of illness please keep them home until the symptoms subside. With everyone doing their part, we can keep the schools open. Thanks!
