Mrs. Turner's 8th grade classes completed phase one of the Barbie Bungee Jump! Students compared the number of rubber bands in the bungee to the depth of her jump to create scatter plots. Then, students found a line of best fit for their plot, wrote an equation for their trend lines, and used that equation to predict the number of rubber bands needed for Barbie to drop off the old stadium. Stay tuned for the final drop Friday!

For the last Art with Kathe of the year the students ended their journey through the history of art by learning about the POP art of the 60’s. Several artist were discussed but we focused on Claus Oldenburg and his monumental sculptures and using recycled material. and Andy Warhol and his paintings of Campbell soup cans.

Today Mrs. Fountain and Ms. Cradduck's third graders spent the morning at the old reservoir. The students took pride in their community by planting flowers and decorating rocks. Several Masonic Lodge members took the time to grill hotdogs and provide lunch. The students were proud that they could give back to their community. Thanks to The Glasshouse for the donation of the flowers.
